The National Information
and Consulting Centre
for Culture

NIPOS (The National Information and Consulting Centre for Culture) is a state-funded organization that operates under the Ministry of Culture. It consists of three specialist departments and two service departments, as well as the Director's Department.

The largest department, ARTAMA, focuses on non-professional art and organizes national festivals to provide a platform for individuals and groups engaged in artistic activities as a hobby. It collaborates with associations, cultural facilities, schools, and local governments to promote and support various art forms.

The Centre for Information and Statistics (CIK) is responsible for collecting and processing cultural data from different sectors, such as public libraries, museums, theaters, and festivals. This information is used by government bodies, cultural organizations, and international institutions to gain insights into cultural events and evaluate the management and resources of the cultural sector.

The Department of Concepts and Methodology provides free legal advice for non-profit entities in the cultural field, assisting with matters such as establishing associations and organizing public cultural events. They also offer further education courses for cultural workers and organize professional conferences on various topics.

In addition to its core functions, NIPOS publishes the online magazine Místní kultura (Local Culture), which covers current topics, conducts interviews with personalities, and maintains an active presence on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
